Birthed out of a vision to help house the growing numbers of International Students coming to study in our great city of Melbourne, the Students Services side of Arrow has always sought to build up students with the intention of strategically sending them back overseas to become influential leaders in their home countries. We seek to not only provide a physical house for their body, but also foster communities and create a home for their hearts, hence the vision, "A house for the body, home for the heart."

Student Services Team

An integral part of the Student Services team are the Floor Seniors; generally older students or past students who live in the building and directly interact with the student residents. Recruited specifically for this volunteer position they provide support and leadership for the floors and help to foster interaction between the students through events and activities. They serve as the first point of call for the students, and will live, breathe and champion the spirit of their floor. Floor seniors will call in when students first move in and also conduct Resident Welfare checks each semester, visiting each student to ensure they are coping with the rigours of studies, living away from home and extra-curricular activities.

Helping to manage and co-ordinate the team, Aun Ngo, our Student Services Manager, runs the Student Services Desk on the Ground Floor of the building. It serves as a helpdesk for any questions, queries or concerns that the students may have. It is open during office hours, Monday to Friday.

Arrow on Swanston is also currently accredited to house Under 18 students studying at Trinity College Foundation Studies, RMIT and The University of Melbourne. Please speak to your education provider for more information.

Events & Activities

The Student Services team hosts a variety of large scale events throughout the year to create opportunities for you to gather and meet other students and residents. Events held over the years have included: Housewarming Parties, Orientation Nights, Sports Days & Talent Nights.

Apart from the bigger events, we also attempt to support special Interest Groups to provide space for you to pursue extracurricular interests.

Arrow on Swanston also partners with various organisations involved with graduate recruitment and study skill development.
